La Fox ha annunciato che il popolare telefilm cesserа di esistere dopo la messa in onda dell'ultimo episodio della quarta stagione, in programma negli USA il prossimo 22 febbraio.
Le voci di un possibile "stop" erano circolate giа quest'estate, dopo l'abbandono dell'indiscussa star femminile Mischa Barton: i fans erano insorti, e gli ascolti calati bruscamente.
Era stata addirittura aperta una sottoscrizione on-line per cercare di salvare i ragazzi dell'Orange County, ma evidentemente non и servita a nulla.
In Italia la serie и arrivata nel settembre del 2004 ed attualmente in chiaro sono state trasmesse interamente soltanto le prime due stagioni, mentre la terza (iniziata nel settembre del 2006) и stata sospesa da Mediaset dopo l'undicesimo episodio.
